Soloist, chamber musician, and educator, Alex Sebastianutto is one of the most acclaimed Italian saxophonists of his generation.
Upon completing his studies, he earned a Master’s degree in Saxophone with highest honors (cum laude), alongside Master’s degrees in Chamber Music and Music Education.
He has been awarded first prize in twelve national and international competitions.
As an orchestral musician, he has collaborated with prestigious ensembles including the Orchestra del Teatro Verdi di Trieste, FVG Orchestra, Orchestra Filarmonica della Calabria, Orchestra del Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Orchestra del Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Berliner Symphoniker, and the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.
As a soloist, he has performed with the FVG Orchestra, FORM Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo, as well as various wind orchestras and chamber ensembles.
His concert career has led him to perform at major Italian festivals (such as the Venice Biennale and Ravenna Festival) and across multiple countries in Europe (Austria, Belgium, Bosnia, Croatia, England, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland), the United States (Colorado, Michigan, New York, Virginia), the Middle East (Qatar), and Asia (Georgia, Japan, Taiwan).
Deeply committed to promoting contemporary repertoire, he has premiered numerous works and is the dedicatee of many pieces written for him by composers such as R. Miani, L. Lugli, S. Movio, M. Messieri, M. Molteni, P. Ros, L. Schiavo, S. Ianne, P. Ugoletti (Italy), D. Hurtado (Venezuela), S. Melillo (USA), C. Lauba (France), and others.
His media credits include several television broadcasts for RAI and Mediaset (Canale 5), radio performances (Radio 3), and commercial recordings with labels such as Artesuono, Da Vinci Classics, and Parco Della Musica Records.
His dedication to pedagogy is reflected in the publication of his book “Il Saxofono, manuale” (Da Vinci Publishing).
Highly praised by both audiences and critics is his decade-long career as a performer, educator, and recording artist with the MAC Saxophone Quartet, of which he is a founding member.
He serves as Professor of Saxophone at the “S. Arlia” Conservatory in Nocera Terinese-Catanzaro.
