Soloist, chamber musician and educator, Alex Sebastianutto is one of the most recognized Italian saxophonists of his generation.
At the end of his studies he obtained the Master’s degree in Saxophone with full marks and honors, the Master’s degree in Chamber Music and the Master’s degree in Music Education.
He won twelve 1st prizes in national and international competitions.
As an orchestral player he collaborated with the Orchestra of the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, the Orchestra of the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, the Orchestra of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Berliner Symphoniker and Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.
As a soloist he performed with the FVG Mitteleuropa Orchestra, the FORM Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, the Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo, several wind orchestras and chamber ensembles.
His artistic activity led him to perform in the main Italian festivals (Venice Biennale, Ravenna Festival), in various European countries (Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, England), the United States (Virginia, New York), Middle East (Qatar) and Asia (Georgia, Taiwan).
Given his commitment to the disclosure of the contemporary repertoire, he has been the performer of numerous premieres and many pieces have been dedicated to him by composers such as R. Miani, L. Lugli, S. Movio, M. Messieri, M. Molteni, P. Ros , L. Schiavo, S. Ianne, P. Ugoletti (Italy), D. Hurtado (Venezuela), S. Melillo (United States), C. Lauba (France) and others.
His career includes performances and recordings for Italian National Television networks (RAI and Mediaset, Canale 5), Italian National Radio (RAI Radio3) and recordings for various labels (Artesuono, Da Vinci Classics, Parco Della Musica Records).
His commitment in the didactic field is realized with the publication of the text “Il Saxofono, Manuale” (Ed. Da Vinci Publishing).
His decades-long concert, teaching and recording activity carried out in Italy and abroad with the MAC Saxophone Quartet, of which he is a founding member, is appreciated by the public and critics.
He is currently professor of saxophone at the Conservatorio P.I. Tchaikovsky of Nocera Terinese-Catanzaro.
He is a Selmer and Vandoren artist.
